Power, water, internet and the rest of the bills

Equatorial (still called CEEE), DMAE, a fibre technician on a ladder, and the condo building that already bundled half of it.

Esta guía está disponible en inglés. Las traducciones se están agregando.

When you move in, ask what the condo fee (condomínio) already covers. Water often is included. Power usually is not. Internet almost never is.

Power, Equatorial / CEEE

The distributor is Equatorial Energia RS. People still say CEEE. The bill and the agency virtual live under both names. To put the account in your CPF you need the lease, your documents, and a morning. Some landlords keep it in their name and you repay them. Get that in writing so you are not funding their cousin.

Summer AC is the spike. Winter, a cheap heater on a 220V circuit from the 1970s is how fuses die.

Water, DMAE

DMAE supplies municipal water. The building often bills it through the condo fee. After 2024, ask about the pumps.

Gas

Building gas or botijão. If it is botijão, you will learn the delivery WhatsApp. Do not run out on a Sunday night.

Internet

Fibre is widely available in the belt and wealthier neighborhoods. Expect R$100–R$200 for a plan you can work on. Claro, Vivo, Oi, and smaller fibre operators all serve the city. Installation requires someone at home.

Starlink exists for houses on the edge. You probably do not need it in Rio Branco.

Phone

Prepaid with CPF is easy. Portability is a rite. WhatsApp calls eat Wi-Fi so a modest data plan is enough if you are not a maps addict on the bus.

Trash

The building has a shaft or a room. Recycling is uneven. Do not start a war with the síndico in week one about glass. Win the war in month four.
